Make it illegal to vandalise national monuments, statues & buildings in England

Petition Details

To vote on an act to give the police force the power to arrest anyone found vandalising a national monuments, statues or national buildings in England.

Additional Information

Thousands of pounds a year are spent cleaning up national monuments, statues and national buildings, this is due to protestors and general vandalism. The general public should not be able to deface or vandalise these national treasures in England.

Criminal damage, including vandalism, is already against the law. Decisions on whether to arrest and prosecute alleged offenders is a matter for local police forces and the Crown Prosecution Service, not the UK Government or Parliament.
