Petition Action

Mandatory resources and training for all Early Years and education settings

Petition Details

We need mandatory training and resources for ALL staff and for it to be incorporated with the mandatory safeguarding training which has to be refreshed every few years and that can also be offered to parents.
It is up to us to ensure that we are teaching and talking to children effectively.

Additional Information

Educating staff and providing parents with the training and support they may need to help educate their children is imperative in tackling ongoing discrimination and racism. A lack of resources is also an issue in most educational settings.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions that request a specific action by the Government.

It's not clear if you want the Government to mandate particular training for staff in early learning settings or other educational institutions, provide funding for training for staff and/or parents.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require staff in early learning settings to be trained in particular areas, but it would need to be clear what training you want to be mandated. We could also accept a petition calling on the Government to provide additional funding to early learning settings for the purpose of training staff, if that is what you want to happen.
