School to teach about the realities of British Imperialism and Colonialism

Petition Details

The study of colonialism represents one of the most important ways of understanding the roots of global political and economic processes. It seeks to give students the tools both to understand the detailed histories of particular regions of the world as well to analyze broader international issues.

Additional Information

The Department for Education says that the curriculum is intended to for pupils to ‘know and understand the history of these islands as a coherent, chronological narrative, from the earliest times to the present day’. This stunts the growth of racial equality in the UK and hinders the racial esteem of Black British children.’
