Update the RHLG guidance so that it includes event hire & exhibition companies
Update the guidance sent to local councils so that it includes ‘event hire’ and ‘exhibition’ companies.
This will allow councils to pay these companies the grants and reduced business rates that they have been promised by the Chancellor.
The Chancellor said in the House of Commons that event hire & exhibition companies fell under the umbrella of leisure & hospitality and as such would qualify for the Retail, Leisure & Hospitality Grant.
The guidance sent to local councils does not include them, and as such, they are being refused the support promised.
Councils need the guidance to be updated in order to support an industry devastated by Covid-19. The government is using some of the venues we work in as Nightingale Hospitals.
