Petition Action

Require a democratic mandate to remove statues or monuments from any public land

Petition Details

Over recent days we have seen the lawful and unlawful removal of several UK statues and monuments with no public consultation due to the views of a vocal minority.
The signees of this petition believe this should only be allowed when there is a democratic mandate for it.

Additional Information

To enact a law that forbids the removal of any statue or monument on public land without a democratic mandate. This could be a local referendum or petition of local people but it should require a majority of people in the local area.
