Give democratic voice to monument removal.
All monuments belong to the people of this nation and are not things for politicians to horse trade in return for virtue points or votes, alteration or removal must be determined by local referendum ensuring all voices are heard.
Events are placing historical monuments under threat, as politicians scramble to take charge of that which is not theirs and dispatch items to museums or scrap yards to appease a vocal and violent mob for political gain, we must not be powerless.
Regardless of the person or event that is commemorated the people must be given the chance to give or refuse consent for our history to be removed.
Our history belong to us all and we need to be reminded of our historical successes and failures.
