Allow birthing partners to the whole duration of labour with no restrictions
At present birthing partners are only allowed at births when women are 4cm dilated or more in established labour meaning women are expected to go through most of the process alone. With inductions women are not allowed a partner until the same point .
With non essential shops re opening and households allowed to mix with six others it’s unfair that women are expected to go through what should be the best experience of their lives by there selves. In addition women are not allowed partners attending scans and appointments so they are missing out on experiences they’ll never get back. If there are any problems women are expected to do this alone , such as recovering from a traumatic c section . Visiting is not allowed after birth too!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions on partners attending births are a matter for individual NHS Trusts. There are no Government rules or guidance that prevent this from happening.
