Implement a green recovery package
Invest in:
-Clean transportation
-Renewable energy
-Retrofit buildings to improve their energy efficiency
-Reduce waste and improve recycling
-Protect nature and wildlife and restore degraded habitats.
This is essential as the recovery package can either bring us closer or further away from our zero-net emissions target. It can secure our and our children's wellbeing. It can build a competitive Britain in renewable energy and transportation or see us fall behind other nations.
The Committee on Climate Change illustrated that spending on low-carbon activities would provide a bigger boost to the economy, in both the short and long term, than pursuing a traditional recovery.
