Reverse decision to scrap Gender Recognition Act reform
The Government held a consultation on changing the Gender Recognition Act to make life easier for trans people and allowing them to self-identify.
We request that these changes be implemented without delay.
The consultation showed overwhelming support for the trans community. It is undemocratic to ignore the result of it. Approximately 70% of the roughly 100,000 responses to the consultation supported the changes.
Most gender-segregated spaces in the UK rely on self-identification anyway.
The current system of changing gender is archaic and causes unnecessary delays.
