Reverse the Decision to Scrap the Gender Recognition Act Consultation Results
The Gender Recognition consultation was believed by so many that the barriers were going to be broken down and make gender affirmation easier. The government have all the data so now it needs to be throughly assessed and changes made to the act.
As a trans man who has been living in my desired gender for the last 5 years and am going through my gender confirmation surgeries. I am at the point where I want to apply for my recognition certificate. However I am discouraged by the challenges that are presented under currents legislation. The fact that a group of people who may not even be trans can make that decision for me is terrifying and has caused me to doubt that I am trans enough to meet the ridge criteria laid out.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government has not confirmed any plans to scrap the Gender Recognition Act (GRA). When announcing their plans for reform of the GRA in 2018, the Government confirmed they were “not proposing any amendments to the Equality Act 2010". Single-sex spaces are protected under the Equality Act 2010.
