Petition Action

Pledge to commit humanitarian aid to Yemen & pressure UN to deploy peacekeepers

Petition Details

The government has to donate and pressure its allies to donate more humanitarian aid to Yemen in order to ensure the country survives. As a prerequisite, the government must pressure the UN to deploy peacekeepers to create a ceasefire and start creating the conditions for peace negotiations.

Additional Information

Yemen is in a civil war & suffering a huge humanitarian crisis. An estimated 100,000 people have died (according to ACLED) from conflict alone. Also, COVID19 has inflicted more deaths. An estimated 24m people (80% of pop.) are living off of aid. UN has stated that 3/4 of aid avenues will shutdown imminently causing an infinite amount of suffering. UN states that 18m are expected to die from starvation. Commentators have warned that Yemen is going to become extinct if there is no immediate action
