Divert aeroplane 'rebranding' budget to the arts
At a phenomenal cost of £900,000, the plane used by Boris Johnson and members of the royal family for international travel is being repainted in the colours of the Union flag to "better represent" the UK abroad. This money should be diverted to support the arts.
Many arts institutions – museums, theatres, venues – are reeling in the wake of COVID-19, and are at risk of closure because of lost revenue.
Rather than repainting a plane with public money as a PR exercise, these institutions, large and small, as well as the artists for whom those institutions are a platform should receive (increased) financial support from the government.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
By the time your petition was started, the plane had already been painted.
