Ensure all those affected by the Windrush Scandal are compensated as promised.
For the UK Government to honour their commitment to all those affected by the Windrush Scandal and review the process for application for compensation; to enable urgent and rightful access to this compensation.
As of May 2020, at appears that only 60 people have received a total of £360,000 when it was estimated that at least 15,000 people would be entitled to compensation worth £200,000,000 to £500,000,000. For many the application process echo's their traumatising and humiliating experiences when having lived and worked in this country most of their lives they found themselves having to justify their status as British Citizens; whilst losing their jobs, being denied basic services, and being threatened with deportation.
