Rescue the Economy by creating Green Jobs and scrapping investment in Fossil
The government should stimulate the economy and halt the destruction of our ecosystem by creating millions of jobs in clean energy and putting carbon emissions into structural decline.
The world only has 6 months left to change the course of the climate crisis, according to the IEA.
Covid-19 has seen millions thrown into unemployment and at this critical point for the survival of life on earth, we must not look backwards by funding the industries that are destroying it.
The IEA has also stated that targeting green jobs will be more effective than pouring money into the high-carbon economy. Their sustainably recovery plan sets out the potential of 1.9m jobs in building efficiency, 1.1m in wind and solar power, 0.86m in power networks and millions more in other areas.
