UK government to send aid to Yemen
The UK government played a large role in the Saudi conflict in Yemen, supplying £4.6bn worth of arms to Saudi forces. Yemen is now facing one of the largest humanitarian crises in modern history and the UK has a responsibility to provide aid.
Since 2015, Yemen has been decimated by war, famine, and now COVID 19. With 24 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, 19.7 million in need of basic healthcare, 58% of the population with no access to clean water and 1 child dying every 10 minutes, immediate action needs to be taken. Considering the UK government's role in causing the crisis, it is their responsibility to provide necessary aid to a decimated country.
