Mandatory education on consent every term on all levels of education/academia
I'd like the government to enforce mandatory education on consent and sexual assault on all levels of education/academia every school year or term (or at least once a year). Other institutions may apply also.
Sexual assault has become a major issue in communities & have caused many short/long term effects.
Many people & communities have different views on the subject & some are misinformed. Misinformation can lead to incidents & lack of sensitivity towards the matter & victims.
Due to the sensitivity of the topic, we can't afford to have misinformation regarding consent, sexual assault & how to deal with it; so the government must step in to make sure there's a well informed general consensus.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The concept and importance of consent is already taught in schools as part of the Relationships and Sex Education curriculum: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/908013/Relationships_Education__Relationships_and_Sex_Education__RSE__and_Health_Education.pdf. It is therefore not clear what you'd like the Government to do.
