Legalise the handling of pepper spray as a form of self-defence
To make it legal for the handling and distribution of pepper spray in the UK as a form of self-defence especially for women. Sexual harassment pervades the lives of women and girls in the UK. This can be most prevalent in the public domain when women are often alone.
Legalise pepper spray. However, grant a license for it. So that it is not abused by immature people who are going to exploit it. Instead, provide pepper spray to the vulnerable such as; women, young girls or the elderly and require them to be tested on how to appropriately use the pepper spray in situations of danger. From this, given they succeed, provide them with a permit or license to legally handle or obtain pepper spray making them feel safer when out in public alone. Providing protection.
