Reopening Gyms and Leisure Facilities, as well as the recent re-opening of pubs

Petition Details

1. Consider the deleterious effects of re-opening pubs, and not re-opening gyms specifically due to COVID-19
2. To re-open gyms as of 04/07/20
3. To begin an enquiry by the Science&Technology Select Committee into the COVID-19 response
4. investigate the possible use of UV bulbs in indoor spaces

Additional Information

2. Pubs are for the most poorly ventilated spaces, meaning viral particle containing droplets may be suspended for an inordinate amount of time
3. Alcohol consumption has been linked to worsening symptoms, and outcomes
4. Obesity has been linked to extended viral shedding, therefore a concern for COVID-19
5. Gyms are better ventilated/have ventilation systems
6. Gyms have already worked with the government to ensure compliance
7. Rising Public demand
