Government bailouts: Green strings must be attached
Hundreds of billions are being spent on bailing out UK companies. This debt will be paid for by future generations, we owe them something in return. Each bailout payment should have conditions attached to help fix the world they will inherit.
Now is our chance to force carbon emitting businesses to work towards a sustainable future. Immediate scrutiny of all future payments is urgently needed. We must ensure no more bailouts are made without meaningful green strings attached.
