Create a National Museum of Black History and Culture
We do not have a world-class national museum dedicated to black history.
The British Museum was created by The British Museum Act 1753. The NMAAHC was established by an Act of Congress 2003.
To create a comparable museum we need an Act of Parliament to establish a new UK Black History Museum.
It will have 3 aims:
Inform
Inspire
Change
Inform
Educate young & old as they see the significant contribution of black people to our society through culture, slavery, war and Windrush.
Inspire
Raise up heroes in black history & inspire the next generation of black STEM pioneers.
Change
Starting with the taught curriculum, campaign for lasting change & involve everyone in the fight against racism.
This museum will show everyone that the lives & experiences of black people in the UK matter.
