Protect UK food hygiene and welfare standards in any new trade deals.
Protect UK citizens from the damaging risks caused by lowering hygiene and welfare standards in food production and imports by implementing robust legislation and controls to ensure the protection of food safety and animal welfare.
The cost cutting exercise of food production should not come at the expense of the health and safety of UK citizens. British produce should be championed and the standard of quality of home grown and imported food should reflect this. Trade negotiations should not lower these standards.
