Registration for all care workers in England
I would like the Government or Parliament to consider creating a registration for all care workers in England. I feel a registration will help with viewing the sector and its workers as professional but also will help with preventing unregulated and unrestrictive care being delivered.
Over 100 years ago, nurses were in the same boat as care workers are at the moment. I feel we need to learn from their registration and the evidence it has shown that registration is crucial to ensuring standards of training, education and regulation.
Care workers in England are often seen as unskilled and unprofessional and in 2019 The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Social Care produced a report in which recommended registration of care workers in England
