Petition Details

We are asking the government to fully fund apprenticeships for 16-19 year olds, making this central to a Green New Deal.

Additional Information

Funding post-16 apprentices and putting them at the heart of a Green New Deal will enable the country to find its way out of the economic catastrophe and recession that has been created by the Covid-19 virus. Funding the sector in this way will also provide not only the skilled people (e.g. to replace gas boilers with heat exchangers NB approx 20k a week needed to meet CO2 targets) but also much need R&D into the new decarbonisation technologies that will be required.
