Impose a Robin Hood tax on banker bonuses as part of the Covid economic recovery
The debate isn’t if the Robin Hood tax should be implemented, it’s why hasn’t it been implemented already.
Rather than once again freezing the pay of much of the public sector, we ask that a very small percentage of the bonuses banks pay their staff is taxed & used to help support the NHS, other public services & green initiatives.
Even with the most optimistic impact that covid and brexit will have on our economy, we cannot afford to safeguard the populations wellbeing without this tax or similar taxes in function and source.
The wellbeing of the population during this time will rely upon the key steps the government takes during the economic recovery period & proportionality taxing the additional bonus income of those in banking is one of them.
