Petition Action

Establish a residential programme of social & practical skills for young people

Petition Details

A national 2-year residential education / development initiative should be established to enable all young people in England to learn to negotiate peer pressure, to resist exploitation and the clamour of social media, coming to value differences while building transferable skill sets.

Additional Information

Covid-19, BAME discrimination, unemployment and disrupted schooling concerns have thrown into sharp relief the uncertainties and inequalities facing young adults today. It’s time for a radical re-think about how their mental health, physical and social welfare can be addressed, re-building their relationships between each other and with their communities. Improved health, race relations and reduced crime will save substantial resources for the police, NHS and Prison services for the future too.
