Provide a definitive reopening timetable and financial support plan for the Arts
As shops, bars, restaurants, and air travel begin to reopen to the public, the Arts sector is still unable to consider reopening for live performance. The government must; Provide a definitive timetable for reopening the Arts and create an arts specific financial support plan.
The Arts sector is still none the wiser as to when it may be able to resume live performances, with the government roadmap causing more confusion than clarity. Many venues and producers are now cancelling their 2020/2021 pantomimes, which make up the majority of the yearly income for venues. The Arts NEED a tailored financial support plan and investment promise and detailed timetable of reopening. Without this more venues and organisations are going to close and more sector jobs will be lost.
