Stop illegal immigrants coming across the English Channel
There is wide concern about the surge in the numbers of illegal immigrants making their way across safe EU countries and into the UK. We want the government/parliament to put extra provision in place to stop this happening, as promised.
The UK is over populated.
The Covid 19 virus is still a major threat.
We are facing mass unemployment.
We do not know anything about these people or their intensions. Nor do we know where they are placed.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Under international law, it is legal for a person to apply for asylum in any country that has signed the 1951 Geneva Convention and to remain there until the authorities have assessed their claim.
You could start a new petition asking the UK Government to withdraw from international treaties that give people the right to seek asylum in the UK, if that's what you'd like to happen.
