Protect employment of first-time fathers for 90 days.

Petition Details

Protect first-time fathers by law against employment termination and redundancy for the first 90 days. Ensure that employers cannot terminate employment for any reason other than breaking contractual commitments. This ensures new fathers do not lose employment due to poor performance.

Additional Information

Now more than ever, the importance to address the mental ill health of new fathers will save many lives and improve the unity of many more families. Statutory paternity leave is not enough time to adapt to their new life. Offering an initial period of employment stability will dramatically improve their future mental health.
