Asses the self-employed earnings criteria for 30 hours free childcare COVID-19
Change the self employed earning criteria assessment period from yearly income to quarterly, enabling self employed people affected by COVID-19 between March and September to be eligible for this much needed support in the next school term and enable them to return to work and support the economy.
The minimum earning criteria is £7.25k per financial year, given the impact of COVID-19 this may not be attainable by some self employed due to the restrictions the government have imposed since March and therefore they will not be eligible for the 30 hours free childcare that they would normally get, this is especially true to new(er) businesses that were not entitled to the SEISS grants, and businesses outside the scope of any other grants or loans.
