Petition Action

Back date stamp duty holiday to anyone who moved during coronavirus

Petition Details

Back date the stamp duty holiday to March 2020 to help anyone who moved during coronavirus who will be feeling the squeeze of being furloughed, or having their self employed income reduced during this time

Additional Information

How is it fair that someone who moves house on 9th July 2020 pays no stamp duty up to £500,000 but someone who moved house on 30th June 2020, who could be experiencing exactly the same financial difficulty due to covid 19, had to pay thousands. This refund would significantly help recent house movers in the same way as it is set out to help anyone moving now,
