Petition Action

Change the credit scoring system. Its not true to real life.

Petition Details

The credit score system is not true to real life situations.
Defaults and CCJs currently remain on your file for 6 years. It should be moved to 3 years.
Companies do not look at your wages & outgoings. Just a score that may have been ruined by redundancies, relationship breakdowns and now covid19.

Additional Information

To give people opportunities to buy property and get on the housing ladder.
If people do not pay for their homes or cars then there should be consequences eventually.
6 years on a credit file is too long.
People's finances can change within 1 year.
Covid 19 is going to ruin a lot of people's finances; Job loses and relationships.
The system needs to change as its not a true reflection on life. Not everyone with bad credit missed payments purposely.
