Revoke the BBC Royal Charter and decriminalise the license fee
Parliament is requested to include the revocation of the BBC Royal Charter in the next Queens speech, and to decriminalise non-payment of the license fee.
The BBC are failing to honour their obligations regarding the public purpose; specifically article (1), which requires them to "Provide impartial news and information to help people understand and engage with the world around them". The BBC have become increasingly less impartial since the UK voted to leave the EU, and most recently have taken a particularly anti-government stance in all its news and current affairs programming. The license fee is outdated in 21st century society.
