Save lives, protect the vulnerable: work with the EU on a COVID19 vaccine
On Friday 10th July, Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed that the UK will not join the EU scheme to distribute a COVID19 vaccine once it becomes available. This petition calls for this decision to be reversed, so that the most vulnerable people in Britain could have access to this vaccine.
The UK's government's management of the coronavirus crisis has resulted in the highest death toll in Europe, and refusing to join the EU vaccine scheme could claim even more lives. While this petition acknowledges the outcome of the Brexit referendum, this is an unprecedented public health emergency. The UK should be cooperating with other countries to protect its citizens. Instead, the government is putting Brexit first and human life second.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
