Do not use 27-acre site in Ashford for lorry park or border control post
The Government should not use the 27-acre site of beautiful Kentish countryside for a post-Brexit customs centre or lorry park.
HGV vehicles are highly polluting, and increasing HGV traffic to this area could have a substantial effect on local air pollution.
Not only is the Brexit lorry park bad for local biodiversity and air quality, but it also threatens disruption to traffic to and from the local William Harvey Hospital and has angered many local residents feeling disregarded.
