This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

The decision to respond is an operational decision for the police, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We've published the following petitions on increasing sentences for carrying a knife, which you may wish to sign:

Introduce a minimum sentence for carrying a knife, equal to carrying a firearm: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/300054

Introduce mandatory life sentence for possession of a knife: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/318502
