Make racial and gender equality at work a legal requirement
Ensure that employers do not hide behind words such as 'commit or endeavour to have a more diverse workforce' to cover up the fact that they simply do not reflect their communities in terms of racial and gender equality, and there is no justification for it.
Change the law to reflect the seriousness of these inequality issues and the need for imminent change at all levels of the workforce in our country.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you are concerned about diversity of workforces, but it's not clear what you want the Government to do about this.
The Equality Act already protects people from being discriminated against in recruitment and employment on the basis of any protected characteristic, including gender and race.
You could start a petition calling on the Government to require employers to take positive action, or to impose gender and race quotas for workforces, if you want the Government to take one of these actions.
