Establish an independent SEND Commissioner

Petition Details

The SEND Commissioner to be written into law as the central body providing clear guidance and practical support on all matters relating to children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs across education and social care and will work closely with The Childrens Commissioner.

Additional Information

We are asking for Resolution Services to be given unique statutory powers as SEND Commissioner in order to provide a practical solution to the current SEND crisis. This will in turn benefit those children and young people and maximise their opportunity to lead fulfilling lives. This is the missing link that will help to unite families, statutory services, the private sector and the third sector to secure a better future for children and young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
