Add British Sign Language to the curriculum in schools

Petition Details

Teaching sign language in both primary and high schools can be beneficial to both hearing and deaf students. It can help and prevent deaf students from feeling isolated at their schools. It brings awareness to the deaf culture throughout the community.

Additional Information

Of that 2000 children, 91% would like to learn BSL, 92% stated that schools should offer BSL, and 97% stated that BSL should be taught in schools. ... If hearing children were offered the opportunity to learn BSL at school, deaf children would have much better access to not only their education, but also to their peers.
