Prevent new occupiers getting public amateur cricket grounds shut
House purchase due diligence to include declaration that house is an immediate neighbour of a cricket venue. Inclusion of such must then prohibit any action against cricket clubs provided they operate in a way typical of similar clubs.
Clubs have been forced to change their operations, and even fold, because new residents, knowing there is a cricket ground bordering their property, then dislike the "impact" on their living. In all cases I have come across, the Cricket club was there first, in the case of Goodmayes, by over 90 years. Compulsory binding due diligence would prevent actions that will further accelerate the diminishing numbers of people playing recreational cricket. Sixes, not NIMBYs.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is a matter for the housing sector and individual homebuyers. The standard property searches that are normally required when buying a property are set out in industry protocols, not by the UK Government or Parliament.
