Stop the labelling of calories in restaurants, cafés and takeaways!
On the 27/6/2020 the department of Health and Social Care announced that to tackle obesity food at restaurants, cafes and takeaways calories would be displayed. I want to fight against this.
Whilst tackling obesity this will be encouraging disorder behaviours and affect so many people living with eating disorders. The NHS will inevitably be paying out for people who’s eating disorders have been encouraged by the labelling of calories. As someone with an eating disorder and someone who struggles to eat in public all together I believe that this could cause bigger problems for me and so many others. Please don’t make it easier for our eating disorders to take over our lives.
