Add 999 years to 2026 deadline for registering existence of public footpaths.
Change the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 by extending deadline by 999 years to allow time for people to record thousands of miles of public footpaths and rights of way that are in current use and may be lost to generations of people whose footsteps laid claim to the right of access.
Public footpaths not claimed by 2026 will lose public right of access.
Accessing much loved and cherished public footpaths is vital to people wishing to escape the confines of urban life, air pollution, the drudgery of life and, to keep fit.
The global pandemic, projected population increase, and widespread reported obesity figures provide incentive for preserving access to public footpaths and rights of way by default in perpetuity.
