To abolish the Calorie Display measure on Boris Johnson's Obesity Plan
I would like Boris Johnson’s calorie display measure to be abolished from the Obesity Plan. Instead of using part of the £10 million on calorie labels, I think he should use this money to support eating disorder and mental health clinics.
Eating disorders are a massive problem already but by implementing this many ED survivors, people battling EDs & people who are border lining EDs could be triggered and could fall into a deeper ED. Many people obsess over & count calories, these people will stop eating out in fear of eating too many calories. People are already pressured into fitting the ‘ideal’ body image, therefore this will put more pressure on young people to fit this body type portrayed by the media resulting in an ed.
