Abolish the TV Licensing authority and pay for the BBC through taxation
The TV Licensing authority collects the license fee that enables the BBC to operate. Since the vast majority of UK homes have a television, why not collect this fee through tax, letting us abolish an organisation which engages in threatening behaviour, demands 6mo upfront payment and delays refunds?
It is my understanding the UK Government must overhaul The Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004 in order to repeal the BBC's right to collect the license fee.
