Why the UK government's 'anti-obesity' campaign is potentially very damaging

Petition Details

Plans to include requireing restaurants and cafes to add calorie count to their menus, in attempt to ensure people lower their calorie consumption. Hugely problematic, especially with those with eating disorders - @beatedsupport estimates there are 1.25 million sufferers in the UK and disordered

Additional Information

eating of which there are many more. A focus on calorie consumption and specially keeping it low is text book eating disorder behaviour and that one is extremely dangerous especially when you take it into consideration Anorexia Nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any mental health disorders. It is an illness that our leaders should be extremely careful to avoid triggering at all cost. Health is not determined solely by the number on the scales-it is complex and multi dimensional.
