Require all shops to accept cash up to the legal tender limits.
Require all brick-and-mortar establishments to accept cash in order to allow those that cannot or will not use card to continue to shop freely. This includes young children, who cannot have cards, and the elderly and tourists who may not want to use cards for various reasons.
Recently, many businesses have begun to refuse to accept cash due to the perceived risks of COVID-19, however a significant proportion of society do not have access to cards. This includes children, who can’t have a card, many elderly and disabled people, as well as many tourists. Additionally, some people may prefer to use cash as a budgeting measure, especially those who may have issues with debt.
