Allow one accompanying adult to attend antenatal scans.
Allow pregnant women to have a partner or family member to attend antenatal scans.
Not only is it supposed to be a special time but for some they get heartbreaking news that they’ve lost their baby. They need support in that moment, it’s unethical to let women experience that tragedy alone. Everyone is masked in hospitals, it is safer than pubs that have been reopened with no masks being worn at all. It does not make sense, and it needs to change.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about visitors are a matter for the NHS, not the Government or House of Commons.
On 5 June, the NHS’s suspension of hospital visiting was lifted. This means that visiting is now subject to local discretion by trusts and other NHS bodies. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending antenatal appointments, including scans.
