Allow applicants who use hearing aids to enter the UOTC
Allow Hard of Hearing applicants i.e those who suffer from mild/moderate hearing loss and/or those who utilise hearing aids to successfully apply for entry to the University Officer Training Corps (UOTC).
As those who rely on devices such as glasses are able to successfully apply for the UOTC why are those who use hearing aids not able to? The UOTC is a non-combat organisation and members are not contractually obliged to enter the British Armed Forces, thus what risk do those who use hearing aids pose compared to those who use glasses?

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The eligibility criteria for the University Officer Training Corps are an operational decision for the British Army, not the UK Government or Parliament.
You could contact your local MP and ask them to get in touch with the British Army on your behalf, if you'd like them to do so. You can find your MP's contact details by entering your post code here: members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP.
