Allow libraries to reopen
Libraries should be reopened as many people need a quiet place to work, and prepare for the approaching academic year. I think many people will benefit from this. By using masks, hand sanitiser and social distancing precautions, libraries should be a safe place to indulge in our learning.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Libraries have been allowed to reopen since 4 July, so it is not clear what you want to happen. You can find out more here: www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-libraries-as-a-statutory-service/libraries-as-a-statutory-service.
If individual libraries have remained closed, that is a matter for the local authority not the UK Government or Parliament. You could submit a petition to Ealing Council to re-open any library in your area that has remained closed, if that is something you'd like to happen. You can do this here:
www.ealing.gov.uk/info/201039/committees/1090/petition_scheme/8.
You can find out more about coronavirus and how you can protect yourself and others here:

The Government has also created an online service to help you find out what you can do if you’re struggling because of coronavirus: www.gov.uk/find-coronavirus-support

You may also be interested to know that because of the large number of petitions that have been started in relation to coronavirus, the Petitions Committee has been questioning the Government about its response to the coronavirus outbreak.
