Tax penalty for not voting
I would like to propose that compulsory voting is introduced.
People say that they don't vote because there is "no point, nothing changes", but my proposal is that anyone who fails to vote would be put on a 60% tax rate until the next election. This would have the effect of still giving people the right not to vote, but facing a penalty which benefits society if they choose not to.
