NHS Risk Assesment
The risk assessment of the NHS overhaul in England will not be published after ministers vetoed demands to release it.
The information commissioner ruled in March that the risk register should be published.
The cabinet has now decided to block its release in the belief doing so could have harmed the quality of advice from civil servants.
The people of this country deserve an explanation of two points raised by this decision;
1. What is so damaging within this assesment that the government is over-ruling the decision of the Information Commissioner.
2. What purpose does the Information Commisioner serve when its rulings can be vetoed by the subject of its judgements?
A full and frank discusion of the points raised and appropriate answers must be undertaken and provided by the government.
